Aston Villa have expressed their interest in Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe, and are said to be "increasingly confident" that they can land the Hale End youngster.
After having two bids rejected for the twenty year old, Aston Villa are reportedly going back in for Smith Rowe and are preparing to lodge a £32.5m bid at the Gunners.
The ever so reliable Fabrizio Romano stated on a Twitch stream on Sunday night that “Arsenal see Smith Rowe staying at the club for many years, despite interest from Aston Villa,” and “Arsenal had a verbal agreement with Emile Smith Rowe for a new contract before he left for his summer holidays.” However, as reliable as Romano is, he also said that Emi Buendia was keen on joining Arsenal before signing for Aston Villa, showing that not absolutely everything he says is 100% true. Other reports suggest that Arsenal would like him to stay, however they’d sell for the right amount.
Emile Smith-Rowe's stance on the transfer has been revealed and he is said to be "blown away" by Villa's persistence and interest in their pursuit to sign the England U21 International, and is due for face-to-face talks with Arsenal over his future over the coming days.
Emile Smith Rowe is a young, creative playmaker with an extremely high ceiling. This season was his breakout year at Arsenal, and you’d expect next year to be the one where he looks to perform in order to go to the World Cup with England in 2022, but the question on everybody’s lips is regarding his future. Where will he be playing his football next season? Only time will tell…
In other news, Fabrizio Romano also said “it will take weeks before we find out exactly what is happening with Jack Grealish. Aston Villa want him to sign a new contract whilst Manchester City have him high on their list of potential targets,” on the same Twitch stream where he discussed Emile Smith Rowe.
Jack Grealish has been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks, and Fabrizio Romano stating that it will take weeks to find out exactly what Jack Grealish’s future will look like will make the Aston Villa faithful wait even longer to find out whether their star man is staying at their club.
