Can Aston Villa hold on to Jaden Philogene-Bidace?

Jaden Philogene-Bidace is one of the hottest prospects at Aston Villa right now, and if it wasn't for him training with the first team, we would have seen him against the world champions. There are a few concerns at the club about whether Villa can keep hold of him tho, Jaden only signed his first professional contract for the club back in July 2020 but with that only lasting a year, he is free to talk to other European clubs.

Rumours in Germany suggest Leipzig are after the 18 year old who has scored 5 goals and got 2 assists in 10 PL2 matches this season, but it is our understanding that the team at the front of the queue is Club Brugge. The high-flying winger has visited Brugge this month to meet with club officials and with his contract running out he would be free to join them in the Summer. This is worrying for Villa, who from such a young ages have fought so hard to keep Philogene-Bidace at the club and ensure he signed that pro deal, in the past before he signed his pro-deal in 2020, he was linked with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

One of his former coaches who has been interviewed before said that Jaden is an "exciting winger, who is left footed and plays off of the right wing" “He hugs the touchline and can beat his man. (He’s) Very confident and very light on his feet and skips past tackles, not one of them that gets hit and goes down. He bounces off tackles. “He’s very strong and outstanding in one-v-ones.”

Personally, I would say that his future, for now, is better suited to staying in the Midlands, although I can see why Belgium would be an exciting prospect with the amount of youngsters they bring through, compared to the amount that make it here at Aston Villa. I know that Villa won't let him go without a fight, but it seems that it is a fight we are already losing.
