WOW. Well what a win, an early Buendia goal gives us all three points, despite constant pressure from hosts.

We will get straight into the player ratings..;

Emi Martinez - 8

A very commanding goalkeeping performance from Villas No.1, despite only the one save to make, the Argentine was vocal, and came off his line to collect the balls that perhaps his defenders couldn't. His distribution was class, a 54% pass accuracy rate, with 15 accurate passes in that game. Another clean sheet for Emi and his defence, deserves an 8 today.

Matty Cash - 10

I don't think there is anything that you could critic Matty with today, defensively the full-back was unreal, he didn't really give Everton winger Demari Gray a second on the ball. On the offense, he made powerful, bursting runs into the opposition half, allowing our team to push forward. Good, strong tackles that created the tempo of the game. A MOTM performance for sure.

Ezri Konsa - 7

A dominant display from Konsa defensively, I felt he dealt with Richarlison very well. Aerially, he was solid, and it's ANOTHER eye-catching performance for Konsa. Not much more to say really.

Tyrone Mings - 8

Well, what an absolute Beastly performance from our Captain! Absolutely NOTHING was getting past this an today. Some strong runs forwards that started attacks, but some unreal Blocks, Defensive headers and Tackles from this man today. Let's not forget how vocal this man is also, he will help the defence around him with good communication.

Lucas Digne - 8

A clean-sheet, an assist, and a win! A perfect return to Goodison Park for Lucas Digne, Well apart from the bottle throwing... He maybe got beat a few times on the left, but at the end of the day, we got the win, and he got the assist, I'm sure that's all he cares about today

Douglas Luiz - 6

An average game for Luiz today, but let's not fault the stability this man brings into midfield, He sprang passes Left and Right, and also controlled the games tempo very well. Douglas made some good tackles to break up an Everton break.

John Mcginn - 7

This man meant business today, the aggression he bought to the game, was the key factor as he was able to match the physicality of the Everton midfield. Some dangerous long ball attempts in behind that put the defence on edge, but I do feel that he was vital in this victory.

Jacob Ramsey - 7

A couple of absolute powerful runs towards Everton really pushed Villa on to attack more. Even defensively Ramsey has matured, there was a situation where Everton was 2 on 1 with Ramsey by himself, and his defensive positioning forced an over-hit pass by Doucoure. He really is improving game by game. One of our own.

Emiliano Buendia - 9

The match winner!!! An unreal header into the top corner from this man. You can really see the improvement game by game from Buendia, he is really starting to find his feet in a Villa shirt. He found spaces in between the midfield and defence that caused problems for Duncan Fergusons men. Amazing again, Emi!

Ollie Watkins - 5

Pffft! Not the Ollie Watkins we usually see, don't get me wrong, his work rate is unmatched, but today specifically, nothing come off for him. The ball was bouncing off his feet, and when he did have a chance to attack it just went completely wrong. Hopefully just an off-day for Ollie and he can find form in 16 days time.

Coutinho - 6

Maybe it's just a lack of game time, but Coutinho wasn't up to his usual standards, not much created by him at all! Fairly disappointing.

Chukwuemeka - 6

Ings - N/A

Hause - N/A
