5 Targets Villa should look for in the Summer...

In this article we are going to go through the 5 key targets Aston Villa should look to sign in the Summer, We feel that signing these 5 players will take Villa to the next level.

Michael Olise:

The young French Central Midfielder has been a stand out star in a rapidly rising and promotion-chasing Reading side. With a reported £8 million release clause n my opinion, it is something that Villa should be looking to jump upon right away. At the age of only 19, he has produced 6 goals and 10 assists including a recent stunning goal against Derby County taking it on the edge of the box before rifling beyond a standing David Marshall. Furthermore, he would bring an added flair and creativity for a relatively cheap price and allow us to not have to take a gamble on another player for 15-20 million. Yes we do already have a few central midfielders however I feel that.

Noni Madueke:

PSV holds some amazing talent in Eindhoven including the English Attacking midfielder Noni Madueke. Valued by PSV at £20-25 Million it would be more of a gamble but also provide an option that isn't Ross Barkley for £40 Million. He has been described by Aidy Bothroyd the England U21 coach as " Having a goal in him, he's very creative" thus proved by his stats at PSV this season with 7 goals and 4 assist in 20 games whilst coming off the back of an injury. He could provide a creative spark which is so clearly and evidently lacking when Jack is injured. However, with a price tag of 20-25 million and Leeds reportedly interested it could be a high ask of Villa.

Rico Henry:

One I felt was a necessary purchase in the summer is Rico Henry, The quick left full-back at Brentford could be the perfect back up for Targett and potentially create competition in this position. With Villa set to lose Neil Taylor this summer when his contract expires we will most likely need a replacement for him, therefore, bringing Rico Henry into the question. It is a must that we purchase a left-back and with Henry being 23, therefore fitting Villas recruitment style, and originally from Birmingham where he is said to have supported Villa not more can be said than sign him up!

Allan Saint Maximin:

This may seem a little controversial but why would he want to stay at a relegation fighting Newcastle where they don't have a striker who finishes any of his chances? A more expensive purchase however would bring the eccentric play and quality on the wings that we do not have but so crave on a matchday. Aged just 24 he would still fit into the recruitment style of Villa so it isn't out of the question. Whilst his stats may not be the best last year with 3 goals and 4 assists his wing play was outstanding and without him, Newcastle would definitely be in a worse place last season. He averages out at 3.2 dribbles per game meaning he is 2nd highest in the league. This drive is what Villa seriously lack on a game to game basis but would come at some cost, with Transfer Market saying he's worth 25 million I believe it to be around 50 that Newcastle would want for him. If we were able to purchase for somewhere around the middle of the two I believe that would be a great signing.

Tammy Abraham:

OH TAMMY TAMMY OH TAMMY TAMMY ABRAHAM! With Tammy enduring the cull under Tuchel at Chelsea where he is being left out of the 1st team even though fit, Tammy may look at other clubs to play for at a Premier League level. I do believe Tammy could be a good signing for us with him still being young and clearly having the ability to score goals, being Chelsea's top goalscorer even though he's spent much of the season on the bench. Would we take that risk on such a high price tag? I don't believe we would but if we managed to get him for cheaper than the £40 million price tag, I think it would be a tremendous signing and we would just need Tuanzebe to bring the band back together...
